Press Release – WBC
(Walnut Ridge, Ark.) -Fall athletic teams and student staff have arrived at Williams Baptist College, and students will continue returning to campus over this weekend as WBC prepares for its new school year.
Cheerleaders, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s cross country moved back into residence halls and are well into their preseason workouts.
Residence hall staffers returned to WBC over the weekend and have already started training for the new year. Other students will continue filling campus throughout the week in preparation for freshman move in day and Ascend Orientation, which kicks off Friday, August 19.
“It is always rejuvenating to see the students arriving on campus for the fall semester as the campus comes back to life after summer break,” said Dr. Jeremy Dutschke, WBC’s vice president for enrollment management and student services. “The students are the reason we do all that we do at Williams, and when they are off campus for the summer it feels like part of our family is missing.”
All other students will move into residence halls on Sunday, August 21.
There will also be a welcome back concert August 21 featuring Christian artist Flame. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., in the Southerland-Mabee Center. The public is invited to attend, and guest admission is $10 per person.
Classes begin Tuesday, August 23, with a special 75th Anniversary Convocation Chapel taking place on Wednesday, August 24. The special chapel service is scheduled for 11 a.m. in Manley Chapel.
