Three candidates for Jonesboro mayor filed

JONESBORO, Ark. – You’ll have at least three options for Jonesboro mayor in November when you go to the polls.

Amanda Dunavant of Jonesboro has filed to run for mayor of Jonesboro as of Thursday, according to information from Craighead County Clerk Kade Holliday.

Also seeking the mayoral position for Jonesboro is Nathan Coleman.

Jonesboro’s communications director Bill Campbell told NEA Report current mayor, Harold Perrin, filed for the office Friday afternoon.

Two alderman positions for Jonesboro will be contested – at least. Ward one, position two candidates as of Thursday were Gene Vance and Terry Sharp. Ward two, position two candidates include Chris Moore and David McAvoy.

In Caraway, Ward Two, Position One alderman is being sought by Jerry Martin and Mark Bell, according to the clerk as of Thursday.

In Lake City, Danny Dunigan and Linda Stone are seeking alderman ward three, position two.

  1. Will their be a public forum or debate? For the news agencies, I think citizens want to know where mayoral candidates stand on issues like a future maintenance code, police and fire department pay and drainage issues.
