Carhop, 17, robbed at gunpoint

JONESBORO, Ark. — A carhop at Sonic on Johnson had what was probably the scare of a lifetime when an armed robber rushed her to steal money Thursday night.

Jonesboro police responded to the reported aggravated robbery at 11:07 p.m. Thursday at Sonic Drive-In on Johnson Avenue and spoke with the 17-year-old carhop. She told police she was taking an order to a station where a white male about 5’6” with red hair and blue eyes stood without a car.

The victim told police she repeated the order back to him twice when she noticed him look over to a black male that had been slouched over and was holding a silver handgun. According to a report, he was wearing all black with a red bandana over his mouth.

The second suspect told the carhop to take off her apron and then rushed her while she was trying to remove it. She told police he grabbed the cash and her side charger and ran.
