JONESBORO, Ark. — A man was arrested for domestic battery and drug possession after his wife woke to him injecting an unknown substance into her arm, according to the report.

Jonesboro police were called to the 400-block of Marshall Street on Sunday in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim told police she woke up to her husband sticking a needle into her forearm and injecting her with an unknown substance.

The suspect, who still happened to be at the residence, denied having ever injected the suspect with an unknown substance and said she wasn’t feeling good earlier that morning and had been sleeping in the back bedroom.

The suspect showed police where his wife was sleeping and officers were able to find a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystallized substance on the floor of the hallway. At this time officers took the suspect into custody and found five Xanax pills located in his right front pocket.

The victim was transported to St. Bernards Hospital for treatment. Her husband was booked at the Craighead County Detention Center for domestic battering, possession of meth less than two grams, possession of Schedule IV less than 28 grams and parole violation.
