Wednesday night shooting in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Police responded to a wild scene Wednesday night in Jonesboro.

At 10:39 p.m. Wednesday night, officers responded to a “shots heard” call at the intersection of Alfred Watkins and Pineview streets. A man, believing he had been shot, was taken to the hospital but later determined to have a “stubbed toe,” the report stated. However, a witness informed officers two suspects had fled into the apartments on Pineview Street. The men were identified as Deangelo Martez Jones, 22, and Anderson Jones, 36, both of Jonesboro.

Officers made contact with the two, along with another, all siblings. Deangelo and Anderson were both detained.

18 spent shell-casings were recovered in the roadway by officers while collecting evidence. Two pairs of shoes were also found.

A black Ruger 9 mm handgun was recovered from the Pineview apartment. The serial number had been tampered with.

Both Deangelo and Anderson are charged with three felonies: terroristic act, aggravated assault and defacing a firearm. They are being held at the Craighead County Detention Center, pending a probable cause hearing.
