LAKE CITY, Ark. – Dogs tend to be clumsy creatures but for one canine, a blunder reportedly got the dog shot by an angry father.
Craighead County Sheriff’s Department deputy, Matt Kirby, was dispatched Monday to Animal Medical Center on Gee Street in Jonesboro in reference to an animal cruelty call. When he arrived, he spoke with the owner of the dog who had come to town from Lake City, where he resides. The man said his neighbor had shot his dog.
The dog owner said he spoke with the neighbor and the neighbor said the dog knocked over his grand daughter, so he shot it.
Fortunately, the dog was expected to live and was already receiving medical care.
