CLOVER BEND, Ark. – One was killed and another seriously wounded in a wreck near Clover Bend, according to Lawrence County 911.
The call came into dispatch at 5:15 and dispatchers reported being told of a red pickup truck rolling over, ejecting two, at the T intersection of Lawrence County 511 and 527.
Both the male and female occupants of the vehicle were ejected, a dispatcher said, with devastating results. The female was unresponsive when a witness called 911 and the man was having difficulty breathing.
Officers confirmed the female was deceased at 5:30 p.m.
A Hospital Wing medical helicopter was requested and flew the male to The Med in Memphis. The man was en route at 5:58 p.m.
Clover Bend, Walnut Ridge, and Hoxie fire departments responded to the scene, along with AET and Medic 1 ambulance services.
Arkansas State Police are working the accident.
