PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman was arrested after Paragould police said a vehicle reached 86 mph in a 55 mph zone before driving behind a residence.
Genia Diane Jackson, 23, of Jonesboro, was arrested on suspicion of felony fleeing, according to court information and a probable cause affidavit from the Paragould Police Department.
According to the affidavit, an officer was patrolling the U.S. 412 Bypass Spur on May 17, 2026, when radar confirmed an oncoming vehicle was traveling 86 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. The officer activated emergency lights and siren to stop the vehicle.
Police said the vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, made several turns and drove behind a residence at the end of a private gravel drive.
A homeowner directed police behind the residence, where the homeowner reported the vehicle had just driven at a high rate of speed. Police said they located and stopped the vehicle as it tried to re-enter the driveway.
The driver was identified as Jackson, according to the affidavit.
Judge Curtis Hitt set bail at $50,000 cash or surety with an ankle monitor required.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
