Craighead County Issues Burn Ban Due to Increased Fire Hazard

Craighead County, AR – In response to an increase in brush fires, strong winds, and an abnormal lack of rain, a burn ban has been issued for Craighead County effective immediately and until further notice. This directive was requested from the Craighead County District Fire Chiefs, in collaboration with the Arkansas Forestry Services, to protect lives and property.

The burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning until further notice. This measure is necessary to reduce the risk of wildfires due to the current weather conditions and rapid drying of vegetation.

Enforcement & Exceptions:

The burn ban will be enforced by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department, local fire district officials, the Craighead County Office of Emergency Management, and the Arkansas Forestry Services.

Residents are urged to comply with this order to prevent potential fire outbreaks. The burn ban will remain in effect until conditions improve and an official order lifts the restrictions.
