Pounds of Meth, Cocaine and Other Drugs Found During Poinsett County Traffic Stop, Sheriff’s Office Says

POINSETT COUNTY, Ark. — A traffic stop in Poinsett County led to the seizure of about 3 pounds, 12 ounces of methamphetamine, along with cocaine, hydrocodone, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said deputies stopped a Ford Focus on April 7, 2026, for speeding. The driver was identified as Steven Stracener, 51, of Trumann.

During the stop, deputies allegedly saw marijuana in plain view on the passenger seat. According to the sheriff’s office, that observation led deputies to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of about 21 grams of cocaine, 30 hydrocodone pills, about 1.5 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in addition to the methamphetamine.

The Harrisburg Police Department assisted at the scene, according to the release.

Stracener was taken into custody and jailed on allegations of trafficking a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine or cocaine, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

The sheriff’s office announced the arrest in a press release issued April 8, 2026.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
