Suspect Accused of Fleeing Drug Task Force, Selling Cocaine in Jonesboro Investigation

JONESBORO, Ark. — A 19-year-old suspect was arrested after authorities said he fled from the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force as agents arrived to serve a bench warrant and execute a search warrant at a Jonesboro apartment. Investigators also allege he sold cocaine during a controlled buy earlier in the case.

Namarion Jerome Rodgers, 19, was arrested on charges of delivery of methamphetamine or cocaine greater than 2 grams, a Class Y felony; use of a communication device, a Class C felony; possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with purpose to deliver greater than 10 grams, a Class A felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class B felony; possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with purpose to deliver, a Class C felony; possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, a Class D felony; and misdemeanor counts of possession and fleeing.

Bail was set at $750,000 cash or surety in the delivery case and $750,000 cash or surety as a separate bond in the search warrant case. Rodgers’ next court date is May 18.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a drug investigation began earlier in 2026 after the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force received information that Rodgers was selling large amounts of cocaine in the Jonesboro area.

The affidavit states Agent Tanner Huff was later contacted by a confidential informant who said he or she could buy cocaine from Rodgers. Investigators then arranged a controlled buy, with the informant contacting Rodgers by phone to organize the deal.

Authorities said the confidential informant was provided Drug Task Force buy money and a covert recording device before going to Rodgers’ residence at 1802 Fairlane Ave., Apartment A. According to the affidavit, the informant exchanged the buy money for cocaine at the residence, then met back with agents and handed over the cocaine, which was weighed and field-tested positive.

In a second probable cause affidavit, authorities said agents went March 26, 2026, to the Fairlane Avenue apartment to arrest Rodgers on a bench warrant and execute a search warrant at the residence.

Authorities said agents saw Rodgers standing outside the residence. When they exited their vehicle, Rodgers fled on foot behind the residence, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states agents gave chase and forced entry into the residence. Rodgers was later found in a bedroom and taken into custody.

After advising Rodgers of his rights, Huff asked whether there was contraband inside the residence, according to the affidavit. Authorities said Rodgers told agents he had a few ounces of marijuana and an AR-15.

During the search, investigators reported finding 28 grams of cocaine, 98 grams of flower marijuana in multiple bags, 34 THC vape cartridges, nine kratom pills, one alprazolam pill, a digital scale with cocaine and marijuana residue that field-tested positive, and plastic baggies for packaging.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
