BATESVILLE, Arkansas —Lyon College will host the seventh annual Bad Boy Mowers Scots Spectacular on Saturday, April 18, at 6 p.m. in Becknell Gymnasium on the Lyon College campus, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
The Denim and Diamonds-themed event will feature live entertainment, chef-crafted cuisine and fundraising activities to benefit Lyon College student-athletes. Guests are encouraged to wear Western-chic attire.
Scots Spectacular is the college’s largest annual fundraising event, bringing together alumni, supporters and community members. The naming sponsor is Bad Boy Mowers. Presenting sponsors include Bank of Cave City and First Community Bank. Entertainment sponsor is Tooth Be Told.
The evening will include a silent and online auction, food and beverage stations presented by local restaurants, and live performances by Nashville recording artist KC Johns and local favorite Drasco.
Johns is a country-rock artist known for powerful vocals and high-energy performances. Her influences include Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow and Brandi Carlile. She has toured nationally and gained recognition with her single “Rodeo Queen,” which climbed the Texas country charts.
Auction items include sports memorabilia, unique experiences and getaways, fine jewelry and handcrafted items from local artisans.
Guests will enjoy six themed tasting stations offering a range of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Participating restaurants and caterers include Colton’s Steak House & Grill, Cowboys BBQ, Fresh Ideas of Lyon College, Grazing Grace, Nature’s Market and Polk and Paddle.
“Scots Spectacular is a special night for our community, alumni and supporters to come together in celebration of Lyon College athletics,” said Cindy Barber, executive director of alumni engagement. “It’s always exciting to see the enthusiasm of our Scots fans and friends as they rally behind our student-athletes.”
Kevin Jenkins, director of athletics at Lyon College, said the event plays a critical role in supporting student-athletes.
“Scots Spectacular allows our supporters to directly impact the lives of our student-athletes,” Jenkins said. “The funds raised help us enhance facilities and programs so our students can compete at a high level while succeeding academically.”
