Northeast Arkansas is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, with forecasters warning of light snow, sleet and a thin glaze of ice that could make travel hazardous.
The National Weather Service in Memphis said the system could bring up to an inch of snow and sleet across Clay, Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Mississippi, Cross, Crittenden and St. Francis counties. A light coating of ice is also possible.
Drivers should expect slippery roads late this afternoon and evening, especially during the commute. Sidewalks, steps and driveways may also become slick.
Residents are urged to slow down, use caution, and check road conditions through 511 before traveling.
