Suspect Accused of Assaulting Pregnant Wife During Domestic Altercation

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A male was arrested after officers responded to a reported domestic altercation Sunday, where a pregnant alleged victim told police her husband assaulted her.

According to the probable-cause narrative, officers were dispatched on Nov. 23 to a residence in Paragould. The alleged victim told officers she had been in a verbal altercation with her husband, identified as potential defendant Klayton Adcock. She reported that Adcock became angry when she began recording the argument.

The affidavit states Adcock slapped the phone out of her hand before grabbing her by the throat and dragging her around the residence. Officers reported observing visible injury to her neck area. Police also collected video of the altercation.

Klayton Adcock, 20, of Paragould, was arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic battering. The charge is normally a Class A misdemeanor, but is elevated to a Class D felony if committed against a woman the person knew or should have known was pregnant.

Bond had not been set at the time of this report.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
