JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman is facing new charges after police say she threatened to shoot a victim’s dog and stab another victim while holding a knife — despite already being out on bond for allegedly threatening the same victim last month.
Barinda Renee Mitchell is charged with first-degree terroristic threatening (Class D felony), second-degree terroristic threatening (misdemeanor), and violation of a no-contact order. Judge Tommy Fowler set her bail at $10,000 cash only, after the detective noted that Mitchell is currently out on bond for a previous arrest involving the same victim.
According to a probable cause affidavit, two victims at 400 Roseclaire reported on Nov. 17 that Mitchell threatened to shoot one victim’s dog and threatened to stab the other victim. The victims told police she made the threats while standing outside holding a knife.
The affidavit states Mitchell is already on bond from an Oct. 18 arrest for terroristic threatening involving one of the same victims, and a no-contact order had been issued in that case.
One victim provided officers with video showing Mitchell yelling curse words at the protected person in violation of the no-contact order. During her arrest, Mitchell admitted to being at the location at the time of the incident, according to the report.
Mitchell’s next court date is Jan. 23.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
