NEW VIDEO: Suspect Accused of Reaching 100 MPH During Jonesboro Police Chase Caught in Poinsett County

JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase through Jonesboro this summer has been arrested after deputies said he fled law enforcement again in September.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Aug. 20, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were patrolling the area of Browns Lane and Highland Avenue when they observed a light-colored Nissan Altima make an improper right turn. When the officer turned around, the vehicle accelerated, ran a red light, and sped away.

Police said the suspect reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour, running multiple red lights and posing a significant danger to the public. Officers eventually lost sight of the vehicle but were able to obtain a license plate number before ending the pursuit near Caraway Road and Stadium Boulevard.

On Sept. 7, deputies with the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office encountered the same vehicle after it again fled from law enforcement. Deputies boxed in the vehicle and took the driver — identified as Anthony Lynden Adams, 25, of Harrisburg — into custody.

Jonesboro police confirmed Adams was the same suspect involved in the August pursuit and noted the arrest was based on a warrant signed by Judge David Boling on Sept. 16.

Adams is charged with felony fleeing, careless and prohibited driving, and no driver’s license.

Judge Boling set bail at $100,000 cash or surety, noting that Adams had recently pled guilty to felony aggravated assault on Oct. 27, 2025, and is currently on three years’ probation.

Adams’ next court date is Dec. 16.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
