Witness Heard Suspect Say He Was Going To “Kill a Motherfu*ker Tonight” Before Shooting
ENGLAND, Ark. — A man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years in prison this week in Arkansas.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Tamarous Dodson, 24, of England, pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of Justin Williams, 34, from Pulaski County. Dodson was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
The crime happened on Saturday, July 1, 2023, according to the probable cause affidavit. State authorities received a request from the England Police Department to investigate a homicide on South Main Street and Nichols Street. A motorcycle club at 116 East Nichols Street reported a fight that had occurred. The owners ended up asking everyone to leave, but once outside, a second incident occurred, resulting in gunfire.
Justin Williams was shot multiple times and was transported to UAMS, but succumbed to his injuries. Dijonasse Shavers was shot in the lower right side of her back, but survived.
A witness said a commotion near a vehicle preceded the gunfire. One witness described running for cover, looking back in the direction of the vehicles, and hearing two more gunshots. Then, they saw someone fall to the ground. They saw the person with the gun run across the street and identified him as Tamarous Dodson.
Another witness who was in the club said several altercations had occurred that night, with Dodson involved. They also overheard him tell security, “I’m going to kill a motherfucker tonight.” The witness said they saw Williams get shot twice by Dodson, once in the abdomen and once in the head. The victim fell to the ground. The witness said they saw Dodson standing over Williams and firing additional gunshots before running away.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Tamarous Dodson, 24, of England, pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of Justin Williams, 34, from Pulaski County. Dodson was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Following the shooting, the England Police Department (EPD) requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
Dodson was taken into custody on December 9, 2023, at a residence on Southwest First Street in England.
The arrest resulted from a coordinated effort involving ASP CID, EPD, and the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office.
