Jonesboro Unlimited Breaks Ground on Industrial Water Expansion in Craighead Technology Park

JONESBORO, Ark. — Jonesboro Unlimited (JU) marked a milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 28, 2025, signaling the expansion of industrial water services across 600 acres within Craighead Technology Park South.

Key figures present included Clint O’Neal, Executive Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC); Judge Marvin Day of Craighead County; Mayor Harold Copenhaver of Jonesboro; and Arkansas Representatives Jon Milligan and Jack Ladyman.

Steven Lamm, Vice President of Economic Development for Jonesboro Unlimited, emphasized the collaborative effort among the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Craighead County, and Jonesboro City Water & Light in delivering enhanced water services to the site.

“In partnership with the AEDC, Craighead County, and Jonesboro City Water & Light, we are expanding our industrial park’s infrastructure to support future industrial growth,” Lamm said.

Jonesboro Unlimited secured $2 million in December 2024 through the Arkansas Site Development Program to bolster industrial site capabilities and readiness for prospective projects.

Clint O’Neal highlighted the strategic importance of ready-to-develop sites in attracting new investments to Arkansas. “Having infrastructure-ready sites mitigates risks for companies during their site selection processes,” O’Neal remarked.

Construction is slated to commence in mid-summer 2025, with completion expected to enable the provision of industrial-grade water services to the expansive 600-acre site adjacent to I-555.

Judge Marvin Day expressed gratitude to local and state support, including the Quorum Court, Governor Sanders, and the AEDC, underscoring Craighead County’s enduring commitment to fostering industrial development.
