Paragould Man Accused of Breaking Into Ex’s Home Despite Protection Order

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into a woman’s home and stole two televisions, despite a protection order filed against him.

On April 22, Paragould officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Wirt Street for a reported residential burglary. Officers met with the victim, who said someone had broken in through a back window and stolen two TVs.

While clearing the home, officers found a black backpack outside the apartment containing documents belonging to the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Dwayne Albin. The victim also informed police of an active protection order against Albin.

Later that day, officers located Albin and arrested him for violating the protection order.

The following day, the victim gave a full statement at the police department, and detectives returned to the residence to conduct additional crime scene processing.

On April 30, detectives interviewed Albin at the Greene County Jail. According to police, he confessed to breaking into the residence and stealing the televisions.

Albin, 41, is being charged with residential burglary, a Class B felony, and theft of property, a Class A misdemeanor.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
