Paragould Man Arrested for Felony Battery

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is facing a Class C felony battery charge after his arrest recently in Paragould.

The probable cause affidavit says on Feb. 16, officers from the Paragould Police Department were dispatched to a local residence about a male suffering mental distress. When they arrived, police were told by the alleged victim the defendant had headbutted him in the face, causing one of his teeth to fall out. It also caused lacerations and swelling to the face. Officers documented the injuries.

Detectives followed up on the incident and brought the suspect in for an interview. After waiving his Miranda rights, the affidavit alleges he corroborated the alleged victim’s statements, adding that he was heavily intoxicated and did not remember the specifics of the incident.

John Hambrick, 42, of Paragould, was arrested for Second-Degree Domestic Battery, a Class C felony.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
