PARAGOULD, Ark. — Charges are pending against a mother in Greene County accused of providing her child alcohol and THC gummies, a probable cause affidavit said this week.
The affidavit says on Jan. 6, 2025, the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a report regarding a parent giving a teenager marijuana gummies and alcohol on multiple occasions.
On Jan. 14, the Paragould Police Department received results showing that the teenager had tested positive for THC in a urine screen.
On Jan. 16, Arkansas State Police’s Crimes Against Children Division interviewed the teenager. The teen reportedly disclosed the defendant had provided them with THC gummies, even pressuring them into taking the gummies on multiple occasions in the past seven months.
On the same day, authorities interviewed the defendant. The affidavit alleges she made incriminating statements in a Mirandized interview.
Lacey C. Lashley, 40, faces a felony charge of introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another person, a Class C felony, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. Bail was set at $5,000 cash or surety, with the condition that the defendant follow “precisely each and every DHS order and directive.”
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
