Paragould Man Accused of Battery Involving Father

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect is facing a felony battery charge after an alleged physical altercation with his father on January 2 in Paragould.

The probable cause affidavit says on January 2, officers with the Paragould Police Department responded to a residence in the city for a disturbance between a father and son.

The alleged victim reported his son struck him in the back and the face. Police observed injuries consistent with this. Additionally, a witness in the home corroborated the alleged victim’s version of events.

Ronald Hester Jr., 37, was arrested and transported to the police station. The affidavit says he made incriminating statements during a Mirandized interview.

Hester faces a charge of second-degree domestic battering, a Class C felony if the victim is 60 or older. Jail records show bail was set at $10,000.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
