Man Accused of Stealing from Abilities Unlimited in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is facing a theft charge after being accused of stealing from the donation area of Abilities Unlimited in Paragould.

At about 11:20 p.m. on October 27, officers in Paragould were dispatched to Abilities Unlimited, 121 North 2nd Street, about a male in a green hoodie on a bicycle trespassing on the property for the third time, according to the probable cause affidavit.

A short time later, officers located the potential defendant, Larry D. Davenport, wearing a green hoodie and riding a bicycle with two bags on the front. The defendant was found in possession of several items he claimed came from the dumpster.

The defendant denied being at Abilities Unlimited. Officers found security footage showing the defendant stealing the items from the donation area of the business, the probable cause affidavit said.

Larry D. Davenport, 63, of Paragould, faces a charge of theft of property, less than $1,000. With a prior theft conviction within the last ten years, that makes the charge a felony.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
