JONESBORO, Ark. — The Jonesboro Professional Firefighters Local 3718 officially endorsed Mayor Harold Copenhaver today for re-election in this year’s mayoral campaign.
“Mayor Copenhaver has demonstrated time and again that he is a true advocate for the safety of our community and the well-being of our firefighters,” said Jason Oleson, President of Jonesboro Firefighters Local 3718. “The Mayor has been instrumental in securing the resources we need to protect the citizens of Jonesboro, and we fully support his re-election to continue this important progress.”
As Jonesboro has grown to be the second-largest city in Arkansas in land area, the expansion has presented challenges for a firefighting budget that is far from the second-biggest in the state. Since taking office, Mayor Copenhaver has worked closely with the Jonesboro Firefighters to enhance emergency response times, modernize equipment, and invest in fire prevention education. Under his leadership, the fire department added more than a dozen new positions to protect Jonesboro residents and its prestigious Class 1 ISO rating.
“It is an incredible honor to receive this endorsement,” said Mayor Copenhaver. “These dedicated men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe and to respond in emergencies. I am proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to continuing our partnership to make Jonesboro a safer, stronger city for everyone.”
The support of the Jonesboro Firefighters Local 3718 adds to the growing list of endorsements from local leaders and organizations who recognize his efforts to build a brighter future for the city. This endorsement reflects Mayor Copenhaver’s strong track record of achievement with public safety officials and his focus on keeping Jonesboro a safe and vibrant place to live. As the Mayor seeks another term in office, his platform remains centered around economic growth, public safety, infrastructure improvements, and community unity.

Of course they did.
Why is this even a thing in Jonesboro politics? Arkansas is an at will employment state regardless of it pretending otherwise. Without that fact changing like in other states your just cutting your throats if your current mayor loses. Stay out of it. If you get paid taxpayer dollars to sleep I for one don’t care about your biased opinion.
It doesn’t matter who endorsed him he ain’t gonna win!
