Suspect in Multiple Hit and Runs Arrested with Psilocybin Mushrooms, Police Allege

PARAGOULD, Ark. — Several automobile accidents where the driver left the scene led to the Paragould Police Department arresting a man on several charges recently.

On Friday, Sept. 20, Paragould officers responded to an accident at the 3400 block of West Kingshighway,, according to the probable cause affidavit. As officers were en route, they were told that the vehicle that caused the accident had left and was traveling eastbound on W. Kingshighway, with the victim following it.

Not long after that, another call came in reporting the same vehicle had hit another vehicle at the intersection of Barnhill Road and Linwood Drive. Once again, the vehicle reportedly left the scene.

Officers located the vehicle at the intersection of South 6th Street and West Park Street. They made contact with the drier, identified as Conner Lee Miller, and found him to have a suspended driver’s license. He is also on active probation with a search waiver on file.

As Officer Joseph Hice was getting that information for the accident report, Sergeant Sam Yates conducted a probation search of the suspect vehicle. Inside, 5.5 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms were reportedly found in the passenger door.

Authorities also reported Miller did not have insurance on the vehicle – his third such offense.

Miller, 32, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony; two counts of fleeing the scene of an accident with damage to a vehicle or personal property, a Class A misdemeanor; driving with a suspended license, an unclassified misdemeanor; and two counts of no insurance, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On Sept. 23, Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to charge Miller. Bail was set at $25,000 cash-only

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
