WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Authorities in Crittenden County made several arrests this week of suspects believed to be involved in a local gang responsible for vehicle break-ins, thefts, and shootings, a release from the West Memphis Police Department (WMPD) said.
Detectives with the WMPD’s Criminal Investigation Division have been investigating multiple vehicle break-ins, thefts, and shootings involving a local gang who call themselves Only The Raq (OTR), according to the release posted to social media. The investigations have resulted in several arrests and more are expected to come.
At approximately 12:37 PM on Thursday, August 29, detectives with WMPD aided by patrol officers executed a search warrant at 2706 East Thompson Avenue as part of an investigation into 18-year-old Jabrone Hamilton. During the search warrant, detectives recovered an American Tactical assault rifle identified as being stolen in a vehicle break-in earlier this month, along with an illegally modified sawn-off shotgun, from the residence.
Jabrone was booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center on several charges of Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property.
