PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man was arrested on a felony charge of terroristic threatening after allegedly threatening to shoot someone in the head, according to a probable cause affidavit released by the Paragould Police Department (PPD). However, the man told police he did not make the threats.
Police were dispatched to a Paragould business on August 15 in reference to threats being made. They made contact with the alleged victim and were told the defendant had threatened them over the phone by saying he was going to put a bullet in his head. Officers were also told that the defendant later showed up at the business and after looking around in his vehicle, allegedly said, “You’re lucky I couldn’t find my gun, or I would have put that bullet in your head.”
The suspect’s wife was also at the location and corroborated the story. She said not only had the suspect threatened the victim but he had also made multiple threats to her family recently, as they were going through a divorce.
Patrick Sheedy, 41, of Paragould, was taken into custody. He was interviewed by police and the affidavit says after waiving his Miranda rights, advised he had not made any of the threats he was accused of.
Sheedy faces a first-degree terroristic threatening charge, a Class D felony.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
