Woman Faces Felonies After Striking Officer’s Vehicle in Pursuit

CORNING, Ark. – A woman faces felony charges after she struck an officer with her vehicle while fleeing, a release from the Corning Police Department alleged.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Corning PD received a call about a reckless driver on Locust Street. The officer located the vehicle in a yard on Jones Street where it had struck a tree, the release from the department said. But the vehicle then began to drive in reverse and while sliding sideways, struck the officer’s patrol vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene but lost control while turning onto Hope Street, again striking a tree. Officers ordered the driver to exit the vehicle but the report says she refused. Losing patience, police broke a window to remove the driver.

Ashley Allred, 26, of Corning, was arrested for felony fleeing, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, DWI, resisting arrest, felony criminal mischief, driving on a suspended license, and refusal to submit to BAC.
