PIGGOTT, Ark. — A traffic stop led to felony drug charges for a man this week in Clay County.

On Monday, April 8th, 2024, at approximately 5:00 P.M., a deputy patrolling North Johnson St in Piggott noticed a white Nissan Altima without a license plate. Upon attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply until reaching East Cherry St, according to a press release from the sheriff.

As a result of the search, Burns was placed under arrest and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. He was booked on charges including delivery of meth or cocaine GT 2GM but LT 10GM, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of SCH IV or V with purpose to deliver.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
