Toddler Shot in Marianna: Arkansas State Police Seek Public’s Assistance

MARIANNA, Ark. – The Marianna Police Department has reached out to the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for support in probing a distressing shooting incident involving a 2-year-old child.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024. It happened near an apartment complex in the 200 block of Sealand Street, according to a press release from ASP. The child, who was playing nearby, became a victim of gunfire during an altercation between two individuals outside the complex.

The child was promptly transported to a hospital in Memphis, and is currently listed in critical condition.

Following an initial investigation, CID Agents were able to identify two suspects believed to be involved in the incident. One suspect, a juvenile, has already been booked into the Lee County Jail as of this morning. However, law enforcement authorities are actively seeking the apprehension of a 22-year-old suspect from Marianna, who remains at large.
