Paragould Man Faces Felony after Confrontation with Police

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A man was arrested this week in Paragould after a confrontation with authorities at his home.

At 10:30 PM on February 11, the Paragould Police Department made contact with Juan Hernandez while investigating reports of an unknown disturbance, the probable cause affidavit states.

Hernandez opened the door while holding a beer, police noted. They asked Hernandez for his name but were met with aggression, with the affidavit saying he responded, “don’t worry about my mother-f***ing name.” Hernandez then allegedly walked aggressively toward police as he stated, “don’t worry about my mother-f***ing name, ni**a.”

At this point, police say he flung open a knife while continuing to yell at them aggressively.

Hernandez was in custody without incident soon after this.

Juan Hernandez faces charges of misdemeanor public intoxication and felony aggravated assault.
