PARAGOULD, Ark. – A suspect was arrested after several reports of gunshots in a residential area Thursday in Paragould.
At approximately 9:57 AM on February 8, 2024, Paragould Emergency Services received several calls of shots fired in the Pecan Grove neighborhood, a release from Captain Jason Elms of the Paragould Police Department said.
Once officers were on scene, they were not able to locate the subject but found that no one had been injured, the release said. The officers obtained video of the suspect, giving them a better description of the suspect and items being carried by the suspect.
At about 11:48 AM, 911 started receiving multiple calls again of the individual in question back in the area. This time, officers were quickly able to respond to the area and locate the suspect.
The suspect at hand was taken into custody and turned over to the Criminal Division for further investigation.
Jonathan Ratliff, 27, of Memphis, is being charged with possession of firearm by certain persons, terroristic act, and criminal trespass.
