PARAGOULD, Ark. – Greene County authorities weee on the hunt for an escaped inmate.
At approximately 2:45 AM Friday, November 3, a 27-year-old woman, Shana Whitaker of Rector, managed to break free from custody while being prepared for return to the Greene County Detention Center after receiving treatment at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. The incident occurred as she was being loaded into a van.
At the time, Whitaker was last seen running westbound on Vine St. behind the hospital, toward Linwood Cemetery. Deputies and Paragould Police quickly responded to the scene; however, as of 4:00 AM, she remained at large.
An update from the department later said she had been apprehended.
