Jonesboro Police Investigate Stabbing and Shooting Incidents Over the Weekend

JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro Police responded to two separate incidents of Battery – 1st Degree over the weekend, one involving a stabbing and the other a shooting.

The first incident occurred on Friday evening around 11:15 am at 403 Garden Manor. Officers arrived at the scene to find a stabbing victim, identified as 27-year-old Jeffrey Brandon, lying on the ground. Officers provided immediate aid, and Brandon was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he underwent surgery for his wound. The suspect, 38-year-old Clarence Brown, was arrested and is currently awaiting his PC hearing at CCDC.

The second incident took place on Sunday morning at approximately 3:13 am in the 3600 block of School Street. Officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed that the crowd had dispersed and began assessing the scene. A female victim, 21-year-old Keyunta Lashay, had already been taken to an area hospital by a personal vehicle. She received treatment for the gunshot wounds sustained during the altercation. Another victim, 32-year-old Kadejus Williams, sustained a cut as a result of the shooting. No updates on their conditions have been provided.
