Several felony thefts/burglaries reported in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A burglary with a felony theft was reported to the Jonesboro Police Department last week.

It happened sometime between 9 AM on February 9 and 12:40 PM on February 10 at the 100-block of East Strawn Avenue. A woman left to stay with her child at a hospital and arrived back home to find her house ransacked.

Several smaller TVs were missing. With the total stolen property believed to be over $1,000, the report said the theft was a felonious amount. The refrigerator door was wide open and an outside water faucet was turned on, with police noting the excessive water flowing down the road.

The victim believed the incident might have been a targeted retaliation from a female suspect angry with her over not paying for childcare several weeks back. Police attempted to make contact with the suspect but were not able to.

The case wasn’t assigned due to a lack of evidence, suspects, or possible leads, the report concluded.

A separate incident was reported to JPD between 3:10 PM and 6:30 PM on February 10 at the 200-block of Dunwood Drive. A suspect broke two rear door glass windows, gained entry to a home, and stole jewelry valued at $2,500 and another $4,000 in cash. Rooms were ransacked. Like the previous burglary, this was also not assigned due to the same listed reasons.
