JONESBORO, Ark. – A felony theft investigation is underway in Jonesboro and the victim is Walmart.
The report filed with the Jonesboro Police Department says between October 1, 2022 and January 18, 2023 at the Walmart on Harrisburg Road in Jonesboro, a suspect has been stealing money from cash registers.
The report lists $15,000 in cash as the stolen amount, taken over the course of several months.
Police have a suspect in the investigation, 40, female, but her identifying information is masked while authorities investigate. The publicly visible version of the report did not clarify if the suspect was an employee.
The incident is being investigated for a possible charge of felony theft, greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000. In Arkansas, that is a Class C felony. Conviction carries a sentence of three to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
