Man found dead with gunshot wounds Saturday night in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A weekend discovery of a deceased man has led to police launching a suspicious death investigation.

Jonesboro Police responded to an Unattended Death in the 1800 block of Self Circle late Saturday evening.

Officers arrived on the scene around 10:45 p.m. and discovered a deceased male. Brian Ward, 40, was identified as the deceased victim.

Initially, police only said it was being investigated as a suspicious death. Later in the day, we learned the victim sustained gunshot wounds.

The body has been sent to the State Crime Lab.
