Jonesboro man perishes after Wednesday evening crash

JONESBORO, Ark. – A crash Wednesday evening claimed the life of a Jonesboro man, Jonesboro Police Department reported.

It happened at 9:16 PM at the intersection of Woodsprings Road and Twin Oaks Avenue in Craighead County, according to the Fatal Crash Summary. A 2016 Ford Mustang was traveling east on Woodsprings Road. Near the intersection of Twin Oaks, the car struck a curb. The vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree before it came to rest in a ditch near the roadside.

Michael Lyndon Statler Sr., 60, of Jonesboro, was driving the car. He passed away from injuries sustained in the accident.

Conditions were rainy with the roads being wet at the time of the accident.

JPD was the investigating agency that worked the crash.
