One dead from early Thursday shooting incident in Jonesboro, suspect in custody

JONESBORO, Ark. – An early morning shooting left one dead Thursday in Jonesboro.

The first call to authorities came in at 6:03 AM, referencing shots fired. Officers responded and met with a witness who directed them to a residence at the 1500-block of Arrowhead Farm Road. JPD located the gunshot victim – Charlene Jewell – inside of the residence.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by EMS. She did not survive her injuries.

59-year-old David D. Jewell was arrested by JPD.

The investigation, which is now a homicide case, is continuing.

  1. More evidence that the current administration’s plan to just ignore crime and criminals is a total fail. If Perrin wasn’t stepping down he’d need to be removed.
