Two arrested for death of 16-month-old

JONESBORO, Ark. – Two people were arrested Tuesday in Jonesboro connection to the death of a young child.

Jonesboro Police arrested Trumaine Percival and Antionette Wright in connection to the death of a 16-month-old child, the press release from JPD said.

Percival faces one count of Homicide – Murder 1st Degree and Wright is charged with one count of Permitting Child Abuse.

Police responded to a home on Stonemill Drive on February 15th and found First Responders performing CPR on an unresponsive child. The child was then transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The body was sent to the State Crime Lab for an official cause of death and JPD Detectives began their investigation into the events surrounding this incident.

Tuesday’s arrests are based on the totality of the investigation, the press release from police said.

A $5 million temp bond was set by Judge Boling on Trumaine Percival. Wright’s bond was set at $1 million. The pair is be held at the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting their Probable Cause Hearing.
