
JONESBORO, Ark. – A severe crash that claimed two lives Wednesday in Jonesboro has now taken a third life, Arkansas State Police report.
The multi-vehicle wreck happened at the intersection of East Highland Drive and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (formerly Commerce) during the noon hour Wednesday. At 1:35 PM, JPD posted that the accident was a double fatality. Authorities cautioned civilians to avoid the area as at least one medical helicopter responded to the scene.
Arkansas State Police completed the fatal crash report. They said a 2018 GMC Sierra was eastbound on Highland Drive at the same time a 2015 Nissan Altima was westbound on Highland. The GMC attempted a left-hand turn into 5940 East Highland Drive. The Altima struck the GMC during the turn.
The driver of the Altima, Dallas Ali Mitchell, 18, of Jonesboro, was severely injured and later died, police updated their report to say. Two passengers in the Altima were killed – Raccerius Dequanne Wilson, 20, and Ekylun Ahmad Ramos, 18, both of Osceola. The driver of the GMC, Timothy Maurice Jones, 67, of Black Oak, was injured.
