Over $78,000 in cash found after search warrant that began from drugs

JONESBORO, Ark. – A suspect is facing numerous felony charges after authorities were tipped off that he was selling drugs. After searching the residence, they reportedly found evidence of a possible credit card scamming operation.

Devante Sanchez Richmond, 24, of Jonesboro, was arrested and is being charged with Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Such VI with Purpose to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On April 28, the JPD Street Crimes Unit received information about a possible suspect selling illegal narcotics. After probable cause was established, a search warrant was written, signed, and executed on an apartment located at Wolf Creek on North Caraway.

Among the items taken from the apartment were 348 grams of marijuana, $79,965 in US currency, four firearms, rounds, several computers, grinders, scales, pipes, bags, and other paraphernalia.

SCU also seized several documents and electronics believed to be used to access the “dark web” and in credit card scamming activities.

Richmond was seen by Judge Fowler Wednesday afternoon, a bond was set at $125,000 and he was given a First Appearance court date of May 29.
