
JONESBORO, Ark. – Two fatal wrecks were reported by Arkansas State Police on Wednesday across NEA.
The first happened at 1:13 AM in Sharp County Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019, the report states. 33-year-old Nichole Richardson, of Evening Shade, was driving a 2012 Hyundai south on U.S. 167 when she drove off of the roadway on the west side of the highway. She struck the north edge of the Evening Shade Bank driveway, reported Cpl. John Qualls, traveling several feet in the air and then hitting the ground and rolling.
A second fatal accident occurred later in the day in Lawrence County.
At 11:39 AM in Portia, two female minors were in a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle pulled out from South Crossroads Road to enter the northbound lane of U.S. 63. It was as a 2017 IHC was driving south. The car was hit by the front of the southbound driver. A medical helicopter responded and traffic was stopped in the area for some time. The female driver perished from the accident. The female passenger was injured. Trooper Brady C. Bates completed the report.
