JONESBORO, Ark. – A child nearly drowned Friday at the Jonesboro city pool, formerly the YMCA, on Nettleton in Jonesboro.
Jonesboro police confirmed the child was resuscitated by a lifeguard on duty who used CPR.
The child will be okay, said Sally Smith, JPD’s Public Information Specialist.
The ages and names of the child and lifeguard weren’t immediately available.
The pool is ran by the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation departmebt. It was formerly the YMCA pool but fell into disrepair under that organization until it became a city managed property.
