Vehicle break-ins are rampant in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Over 100 vehicles have been illegally broken into since the beginning of the year and in many cases, the victim’s left their doors unlocked.

Since January 1, there have been 134 breaking and entering events where articles were stolen from a vehicle, JPD said Wedensday. The vehicle’s doors were unlocked in 95 of these cases.

If you are a victim of a breaking and entering or vehicle break in, call the Jonesboro Police Department at 935-5657.

Additionally, if you have a firearm in your vehicle, be certain you secure it overnight.

  1. Why doesn’t the Jonesboro Police Dept put a bait car with some expensive looking stuff inside the car and hide some gps trackers inside the stuff then put the car in the area’s where these breaking & enterings are happening.I bet they’ll find a lot more stolen stuff this way.
