Arrest made in discarded twins case

CROSS COUNTY, Ark. – On 02/16/2018 the bodies of two newborn twins was located on CR 602 in Wynne AR inside of a purple suitcase. The babies were identified as a male and a female approx. 32 to 34 weeks in the gestation period.

Detectives with the Cross County Sheriff’s Office followed up on numerous leads and devoted numerous man hours of their personal time to solve this case. Detectives requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police in this case due to the large number of leads. During the course of the investigation Detectives with Cross County and the State Police identified the owners of the bags. During the course of the investigation Detectives ascertained information that led to the arrest of Keysheonna Reed, 24, of Wynne. Reed has been charged with Abuse of a Corpse A.C.A. 5-60-101 is a Class C Felony. The release said she is facing two counts and is awaiting a bond to be set.

The report from the Arkansas State Crime Lab determined the babies were born deceased in the womb and there was no illegal substances in the babies system.
