Report: Drunk ex shoves mother holding child down

JONESBORO, Ark. – Holidays, family and alcohol can make for a volatile atmosphere and lead to increased domestic disturbances. One such call came in the night of New Year’s Day in Jonesboro.

At 9:25 PM Monday night, January 1, 2018, officers with Jonesboro Police Department were dispatched to the address, redacted, where a woman said she had invited her ex-husband over to spend the night with their children. She said he arrived at her home drunk – and began to drink even more in the house. He quickly became combative, she said.

She was holding her child when she reported the man pushed her down. She said he pushed her over a “pack and play,” and she fell inside of it. Her left hand was hurt during the fall. She said the suspect then took a bottle of anti-freeze and threw it at the front door.

When she called police, the suspect reportedly left in a white car. Authorities tried unsuccessfully to locate the suspect, 23, but could not.

Because of a juvenile’s involvement, all identifying information was redacted in the police report.
