To be held at Lee’s Karate
Jonesboro, Ark. – A local martial arts group is offering a course to help campuses prepare for the worst – the reality of an active shooter.
Every campus (Church, School, or Hospital) must prepare for an attack by an active shooter and must know how to respond should an attack occur, the release from Lee’s Karate says. Dave Young, a renown active shooter expert from North Carolina will be offering a rare in-person training seminar at Lee’s Karate of Jonesboro and Paragould on January 2 through 4 at Lee’s Karate in Jonesboro.
“I am passionate about the need for active shooter training and Dave Young is one of the best trainers in the United States on this topic. I’m excited to have Mr. Young coming to Arkansas.” Lee, a concealed carry gun trainer, self-defense expert and owner of Lee’s Karate, said.
Mr. Young is a co-founder of Vistelar, the world-leader in point-of-impact conflict management training, and is the principle subject matter expert for Vistelar’s “Campus Safety: Strategies For Surviving An Active Shooter” online program. In developing this program, Vistelar drew upon Mr. Young’s 25 + years as a professional trainer in law enforcement and in the Marine Corps, where he developed one of the first active shooter training programs in 1990. The content of Mr. Young’s training is based on real-world experience, not academic theory (e.g., flawed strategies like “lock-down” are not discussed).
