Local church ransacked in recent burglary

Police believe it was a juvenile or juveniles

JONESBORO, Ark. – A newly released report indicates a local Church of Christ was ransacked by a vandal or vandals recently in Jonesboro.

On Monday, Oct. 30, Officer John Hughes took the report from a man at a Church of Christ located at 501 Pepper Street in Jonesboro. Sometime the night before, the man said a basement window was broken out and a burglar entered the building through it.

While inside, numerous offices were entered along with a food pantry. A door to one office had been kicked in. Several rooms were ransacked with things thrown all over the floor. Food was removed from the kitchen and strewn about.

“The condition of the inside and the fact that no computers, or other expensive equipment that is in plain sight had been taken points to the suspects possibly being juveniles,” Hughes reported.

A wireless microphone was stolen.

The suspect or suspects could be charged with felony commercial burglary, along with other lesser charges.
