Woman went to court with meth, report indicates

Already taken to jail from court, the drugs were found after a search

JONESBORO, Ark. – After an officer dropped a suspect off at the county jail on Monday, he would soon learn his work wasn’t finished.

At 4:16 p.m. Monday afternoon, Officer Michael McQuay was told to contact Craighead County Detention Center. He had just dropped off Lauren Whitney Huber, 29, of Jonesboro, from court, his report said. It didn’t specify why Huber was in court. However, the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office inmate roster said she was incarcerated on a charges including Theft, $1,000 or less – all others.

Standard procedure is to search the suspect at the detention center. When her purse was searched, the report said a substance believed to be methamphetamine was found. Also found were some syringes.

Huber now faces felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth. As of 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, she was still incarcerated according to the CCSO inmate roster.
